5 Best Home Style Restaurants in Moscow

When I think about the perfect place to eat when traveling, I would like it to be something of a traditional cuisine, cozy, original restaurant, not a part of a big chain and of course full of people. Here we tried to list restaurants in Moscow, which our friends or we like very much, where one you have a nice dinner and feel like at home. If you are up to eat out, you should try one of these places.
1. Sisters Grimm

A place secretly hidden in a yard of Stoleshnikov street, for sure is one of a kind. Whatever you would take – Shchi (Russian soup) with homemade sour-cream, appetizer with tomatoes and goat-cheese, shashlik (Russian bbq) or one of tea-variations, you won’t regret, moreover it will be moments of a lifetime.
Where is that?
Stoleshnikov street, 11, metro Teatralnaya, Chekhovskaya, Pushkinskaya

A place for long talks, dates and reunions. All the interior makes you feel as you are at Russian apartment, all attributes and atmosphere are just amazing. Simple and tasty cuisine, nice bar.

3. Khitrie lyudi (Smart people)

A great place on Winzavod. We say it is a “very St Petersburg place” – because only in St Pete they know how to create places which will be smth special, have great cuisine (whatever you take from the menu) and will attract great people. Everything on the menu is recommended! Btw what is more, it is a dog-friendly place.
Where is that?
The territory of Winzavod, 4th Syromyatnicheskiy sidestreet, 1, building 10. Metro Kurskaya

4. Dacha on Pokrovka

here you will find all sorts of traditional cuisine (soups, appetizers, main courses). This might be the right place for a shot of vodka with good zakuska (appetizer), try the plate with salty tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage and mushrooms. If you have this list “try when you are in Russia” for sure you will put many “checks” when visiting this place.
Where is that?
Pokrovsky Boulevard, 16-18, building 4 (entrance from Podkolokolny lane)

5. Cafe of Artemiy Lebedev studio.

It is the place opened by a very Russian designer. Actually they have several places in Moscow, but we will recommend the first one which was opened on Bolshaya Nikitskaya street. It is a very small place, they serve food which is again “tasty and simple as my Mom was cooking”. Russian cutlets with mashed potatoes, salads with sour-cream, bakery, and many more.
Where is that?
Bolshaya Nikitskaya street, 35. Metro Tverskaya
